Cindy O'Neal is an accomplished horsewoman and has been involved in the saddlebred world for over 40 years. She has owned and trained some of the top saddlebreds showing from all over the southeast to the southwestern shows. A winning amateur with a dream to one day claim the professional status of training and teaching other people how to ride and show horses, this status was attained in 1992. Since that time, she has trained some of the top riders in the southeast winning in academy divisions to show performance divisions. Cindy has been involved in all aspects of the horse world as a former corresponding secretary for the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Georgia and former Vice President of the United Professional Horseman's Association. In just 3 years, she was named UPHA Chapter Horseperson of the Year in 1995. Her daughter's, Olivia and Sylvia are already accomplished riders in the saddleseat division as well as mounted drill team riding. Both girls started showing at the age of 4.
In 1996, Cindy was introduced to the world of mounted drill team riding at the Georgia State 4-H Horse School where she was the saddleseat instructor for that year. She instructed at horse school for the next 4 years. In 2007, Olivia took an interest in riding on a drill team for competition and became involved with the local 4-H horse and pony club. In 2009, Cindy started as instructor for a novice team for the county. Their first competition together earned them top honors in the Novice Freestyle division. That same year, Cindy attended the USEDA clinics in Lindale, Texas to attain her Drill Master card for coaching and to get certified to judge drill team competitions. Cindy and her family travel all over the south to competitions.
